Fully Canvased

All Q suits are fully canvassed as opposed to fused or glued. A fused suit employs glue to hold the interlining of the suit in place. >This is an inferior and inexpensive method. On the other hand a fully canvassed coat requires more expensive material and takes longer to construct. In this method the interlining is actually cut to the specifications of the individual coat, allowing the suit to form to the body. The difference between the two methods can be specifically noticed over time.  The fully canvassed jacket will last a lifetime, whereas the fused jacket will begin to bubble after a few cleanings.

Functional Button holes

A crucial feature of a hand tailored suit is the “surgeon cuffs” or functional buttonholes.  This is a distinct characteristic that sets custom garments apart from off the rack.  Because each coat is cut specifically for the client, we are able to use working button holes.  The sleeve length on an off the rack garments typically has to be adjusted, so the buttons have to be moved accordingly.  This makes it almost impossible to employ functional buttonholes for these off the rack garments.  All Q jackets come with complimentary functional buttonholes.

Pick Stitching

Pick Stitching is a way of threading the outer side lining on the lapel of a suit jacket. It is done by hand and thus requires extreme attention to detail.  The result is a very polished look that is elegant and discreet.  While it requires much more time to create than a machine sewn stitch, the finished product is well worth it.

Lining Choice

We employ the finest lining choices available in the world, primarily using Bemberg linings.  Customers can choose from any solid color, as well as a huge array of stripes, paisleys and other patterns.

Our fabric library is unsurpassed in quality and selection.  We house the world's finest wools from prestigous mills such as Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Loro Piana, Scabal and Ermenegildo Zegna.  We have the unique ability to accomodate any fabric request.
